This color of fabric is dyed with archival dyes using the Colet method of dyeing. This brush-on technique produces stronger, darker colors than a traditional dip-dye. The fabric has more shading (light and dark of the same color or a combination of two or more different colors) and less marbling. Our unique drying method results in a virtually wrinkle free fabric with minimal fraying.
*THIS IS A HAND DYED FABRIC. Please base your color selection on the DMC reference - not the picture - as all computer monitors, tablets, phones, etc ... interpret color differently and the image you are seeing on your device may not be an accurate depiction of the actual color. Pieces may vary from slightly lighter or darker and have more or less shading than seen in the image. Please note that not all fibers accept color the same - so a particular color in one trim or fabric might not be exactly the same shade in another trim or fabric. If you receive your fabric and the color is not suitable, please contact us to discuss a possible return.

Dream Big Little Mermaid - the floss list is incorrect on some charts. Please use the following information: A is E3949, B is 793, C is 4030 and D is 3810. All are DMC colors.
Willamina's Woolens - the fabric color used in the model should read Ocean Traditional not Midnight.
Sunflower Street - for the letter P - the floss color should be 744
In some situations, we may be able to accomodate custom sizes on our hand-dyed fabrics. It will be considered on a case by case basis. Please contact us for individual pricing. At this time, we are no longer doing custom colors. Larger sizes of our non-hand-dyed fabrics can be special ordered - please contact us for specifics and pricing.
Every computer, tablet, phone - represents color in a different way. Typically, this is no where near what the color actually looks like in person. Please do not base your fabric choice on the image you are seeing - for every listing, there is a DMC floss reference. Please use THIS information when deciding on a color for your project. But also remember that even this is just a reference. The hand-dyed fabric is just that - it is dyed entirely by hand - not mass produced in a factory some where. Each and every piece will be slightly different. We are also available for help and suggestions, please contact us and we will be happy to provide assistance.
We use two different methods to dye our fabric.
The Colet method of dyeing (a brush-on technique) is used for the Aida fabric in the BD Group. This technique produces a higher saturation of color and darker colors with heavier shading. The colors can be a light and dark version of the same color or a mixture of two or three different colors. The fabric itself retains the sizing, is stiffer and has virtually no wrinkles.
A traditional dip dye technique is used for the Aida in the DD Group, as well as, the Linda, Lugana and Linen fabrics. This technique produces softer color variations and a more solid color appearance with a bit of marbling. The fabric itself has a softer feel and will have some wrinkling.
We ship on the same day that the shipping label is printed. We cannot control how long it takes for USPS or Fed Ex to get the item to you. Since Covid, there have been delays in customers receiving the orders. However, items are rarely actually lost in the mail. In the event that USPS marks an item as "in transit, arriving late" - we will not issue a refund or mail a new item out until at least 30 days have passed with out any updated tracking information. After 30 days, we will assume the item is truly lost in the mail and a new item will be shipped or a refund will be issued. In the event that USPS says an item has been delivered when it has not been - it is the buyers responsibility to contact USPS and file a claim for a lost item.
Because of the nature of these items, we cannot accept returns for:
- custom orders
- digital downloads
- "short cut" fabrics
- paper charts
- clearance or special buy items
We do not do exchanges. If you receive your order and it does not meet your needs, please contact us within seven days to discuss a return. (See the list above for items that may not be returned). We will discuss the options and do our best to work with you.
We do offer a wholesale program for qualified buyers. This program is limited to Vintage NeedleArts products only (hand-dyed fabric, hand-dyed trims and our charts). Please contact us for more information about our wholesale program.
